Does Everything Grow Better in My Neighbor's Yard

BIO:
My life has consisted of a series of chapters; all good, all interesting.  My first degree was a BA in Art.  My second degree was Elementary Education.  I retired four years ago from teaching second grade. Gardening has always been a passion, especially landscaping and flower gardening.  Does Everything Grow Better in My Neighbor's Yard began as I fulfilled my desire to continue communication on the internet with family and friends. I live in Iowa. Smack dab in the middle of the country. I love it here.My home is located in a young oak and hickory woodlands... it's very shady here, but the removal of three unhealthy trees in the front yard has resulted in a fabulous Sunny Corner Bed.

Mahlzeit

BIO:
I'm an artist, a cook, and a gardener, (plus I earn a living as a figure skating coach); I've been gardening in a Chicago backyard since about 1980, about 1100 square feet of both edibles and ornamentals. I'm a serious SLOW food advocate working to get my family's eating off the grid.  My hair is pink and my soul is old.

The Garden of Live Flowers

BIO:
I am a graduate student in biology with a concentration in plant evolution and biogeography. I have been gardening on our city lot on Chicago's Northwest side for over 15 years.  I blog about my garden, my dogs, and sights in the city, when I really should be working on my dissertation.  My primary interests are native plants and houseplants, and I have an excessive interest in basswood trees.
